On 7th September, 1986 his Excellency Sri.P.Ramachandran, the then Governor of Kerala inaugurated a small Mother and Child hospital with 86 beds at Killippalam Junction, the entrance point to the Capital city of Thiruvananthapuram..

           Our beloved founder Late Sri.P.Ratnaswamy, a reputed builder who constructed land mark buildings in the capital city like Reserve Bank of India, Sree Chitra Thirunal Medical Centre for Medical Science and Technology,Co-operative Bank Towers, Regional Cancer Center, State Bank of Travencore (Corporate office) Sangeeth Apartments , PRS Court, PRS enclave, PRS grace,Soundarya apartments etc..became immortal and a   visionary by promoting and constructing PRS Hospital,  a service oriented medical institution affordable to common man in and around  Trivandrum city.The posterity of Sri P .Ratnaswamy took up the cue from him and continued to foster the hospital from where he left over. .They have been constantly improving upon the favorite project of their father by adding more and more departments, building new blocks, acquiring sate-of -the -art medical equipments and devices, bringing in more and more dedicate and experience doctors,management & technical professionals and continuously upgrading the service. Today PRS is an ISO 9001-2000 certified, multi-disciplinary hospital with 23 departments with over 200 beds ,rendering primary , secondary and tertiary medical care to thousands of sick people from the city of Trivandrum , neighbourhoods ,NRIs and foreign nationals.
