PRS Blood bank was licensed by the Drugs controller of India on 23rd Nov 2002 to collect and dispense whole blood .after 6 years on 26th Nov 2008 the licensed is now renewed to process Human Blood components namely (a) Fresh Frozen Plasma BP , (b) Concentrated Human RBC IP, (c) Platelet Concentrate USP , (d) Cryoprecipitate USP and (e) Granulocyte concentrate . The Blood Bank is now known as Department of Transfusion Medicine and offers round the clock service to the patients.

Who can donate???

1. Anybody between the age of 18-55 yrs.
2. Having hemoglobin level above 12.5 g/100 c.c.
3. Heart beat rate 60-100/minute.
4. B.P in the range of systolic 90-119 & Diastolic 60-79 mm Hg.
5. Donor should be of sound health.

Some Truths About Blood Donation

1. Donation does not make any adverse effect on the donor.
2. The donated blood is replaced within 2-3 weeks.
3. Blood can be donated at an interval of 3 months.
