The department does all upper GI procedures including variceal bleed management, polypectomy, bleeding ulcer manage-ment, esophageal malignancy stenting etc.

All lower GI procedures like colonoscopy, polypectomy, bleed management are done with utmost precision. The introduction of ERCP procedures for CBD stones and biliary and pancreatic malignancies has been a land mark in the progress of the department.

The department has the only actively running liver clinic in Trivandrum district, providing education and care to the most needy liver disease patients. The department now caters to around 12,000 – 15,000 outpatients, around 500 inpati-ents and 3000 endoscopic procedures every year.

We are planning for the introduction of latest amenities in gastroenterology like APC, Endoscopic ultrasound etc in the near future.
